Terra Nova Six

Adelaide's Star Trek - Star Wars Event
August 22 - 24 2008

The sixth in our current series of events was to prove to be a highly successful convention and for the first time in Australian Sci Fi convention history, bring together visiting guests from Star Trek and Star Wars franchises.

Arriving from Los Angeles California was our featured Star Trek guest Mr Aron Eisenberg, whose character "Lt Nog" from Star Trek Deep Space Nine, was a regular main cast member of the show from the very first episode through to the show's finale seven years later.

Arriving home from New York just days before the event after a hectic US book promotion tour was our Star Wars guest Mr Sean Williams, Author of the much anticipated book, Star Wars - The Force Unleashed.

Sci Fi fans attending the show were eager to be the first fans in Australia to purchase their copy of the book which had not yet been released for general sale and had the added bonus of having Sean personally sign all copies purchased at the show!

Fans attending Terra Nova 6 travelled in from all states of Australia and took advantage of the many events that were conducted with our guests over the three day event which included a unique evening of "spoken word" by Aron Eisenberg as he refelected on his acting career and his time on Star Trek.

A very perochial and enthusiastic attendance waiting for our guests!

Convention Saturday had an electric atmosphere as fans sat back and enjoyed all the ambiance of the event including various fan presentations from overseas conventions, dvd presentations of Science Fiction to Science Fact an elaborate parade of Fantasy and Sci Fi costumes by The Australian Costumers' Guild and a large and varied collectible dealer trade expo.

A convention would just not be complete without some Klingons!

Who else could keep the Klingons in line but Seven of Nine!

On stage and receiving a well deserved applause from our audience!

With the audience all pumped up, it was time for Sean Williams to climb on stage and fans were eager to hear all about the latest Star Wars book as Sean had been sworn to secrecy by the Lucas powers that be, up until our event!

Aron Eisenberg entered the convention auditorium to a loud and enthusiastic applause and immediately began to entertain the fans with his past experiences on Star Trek.

Aron was very appreciative of the fans display of affection for his character and his show and remained on stage till every question was answered.

The final event of the day had Aron and Sean back on stage together with fans selected to participate in the great debate - "What makes Star Trek better than Star Wars?"

An exclusive VIP dinner was conducted at The Police Club of Adelaide following the convention and gave our attending Foodies some more time with Aron as they sat back and enjoyed a sumptuous three course dinner in intimate mode with Aron rotating between tables after each course!

We thank Heather and Greg for their excellant dinner and highly recommend a night out at The Police club.

Terra Nova 6 was part of a unique event in The Adelaide Pop Culture Festival being held at The South Australian Museum.

Terra Nova Events Director, Mr Stuart Blair was also the Festival director and is seen here with Aron Eisenberg handing over a certificate and donation to the Director of National Science Week Ms Sue Mikkleson at The South Australian Museum as a token of our appreciation for being included in to the main program and as an exhibitor of National Science Week.

It is with appreciation that I thank CEO of Makris Corporation - Mr Ross Makris for his generous sponsorship of Terra Nova Events and Terra Nova 6.

Terra Nova Events would not be regarded as one of the best run and value for money Sci Fi events in Australia without the dedication of The Terra Nova Crew.

I would like to sincerely thank all members of "The Crew" for their unique individual skills that when combined, form a spectacular event that has the fans immediately asking us when the next event will be held.
