A Christmas wish!
It's that time of the year again when we start to compile our lists and begin our shopping for the upcoming festive season.
Hi everyone and welcome to our Spring issue.
With Christmas only two months away, now is the time to be taking unsuspecting family members and close friends to your favourite collectible and related merchandise stores for some subliminal Christmas requests.
To help you with your selections, our November issue, aptly titled, the Christmas wish list, will feature our largest new release product update, ever!
We have a great interview for you this issue with Flash Gordon himself - Mr Sam J. Jones. A classic action hero, Sam talks candidly with Maryanne on past and present projects.
Star Wars fans are in for a treat as we have a great prize on offer in our latest competition, so read on for details on how you can be in the running for a true piece of the franchise's history!
It's warp speed ahead for the crew of the USS Enterprise as casting is nearing completion and with film production to begin next month, Australian fans are wondering what to expect from Eric Bana? Will he portray a Khan style villain? Or will he appear as an unrecognisable Alien adversary?
Boasting one of the largest budgets for a feature film along with some of Hollywood's biggest names in production, the stage is set for Star Trek to make a real comeback on the motion picture screen.
Just what will the Enterprise look like? So far we have been informed the design will be similar to it's original shape. We are keen to know what you think the Starship Enterprise should look like, if you have a design you would like to see constructed...
We would like to hear from you.
Have a great month ahead - Stuart

We're on Planet Mongo, with Sam J.Jones!

The Sci Fi Reporter's Maryanne Scutella had the chance to catch up with one of Sci Fi's great action heroes.
We hope you enjoy our exclusive interview with Mr Sam J. Jones.
Maryanne: Sam, Why do you think you were chosen to play Flash Gordon over other actors?
Sam: When you look at me at age 25, then look at a picture of Buster Crabbe at age 25, the similarities are remarkable. Dino has a history of casting lead actors this way.
I was also a football player in real life. So, you can also say, from the beginning - it was part of my destiny.
MS: What was it like playing a classic character for a movie that had already been portrayed in a television series? Did you learn anything about the character from that series?
SJJ: I knew I had a lot to live up to, so to avoid any fear of failure, or being overwhelmed by the very large budget - I studied his history and kept it simple: Flash always believed that Good will always defeat Evil and he was the one chosen to carry this out. When a person believes this (whether an actor or not) nobody or no thing will ever stop him or her from accomplishing this mission.
MS: Why did you feel it necessary to do your own stunts for the Flash Gordon film? What do you think it added to the film?
SJJ: I was kind of macho at the time, studied martial arts and was a real football player. So, I said why not and it added to the film, because we did not have to hide the stunt man's face all the time - it was me. Let me make one thing perfectly clear - we had numerous stunt men from England who performed very dangerous fire gags and high elevation stunts, etc. They were brave, lots of fun to work with and the success of the movie had a lot to do with their performances, I will never forget them.
MS: What are your thoughts about the new Flash Gordon TV series?
SJJ: It's about time I say, I met Eric Johnson, his cast and crew and it's a great fit and he is doing an excellent job.
MS: There are rumours circulating the internet that you are going to guest star in the new Flash Gordon TV series. Is the rumour true and if so what are your feelings about returning to the world of Flash Gordon as someone other than the leading character?
SJJ: It is not a rumour, They sent me to Vancouver in August to guest star in the role of Krebbe, for the ninth episode titled REVELATIONS. It should be aired any day on the Sci-Fi Channel. If I am in demand, then I am always looking forward to being plugged into FLASH GORDON, especially if it is a very unique character as Krebbe (He has been locked up in a dungeon for 20 years), most viewers will not know it's me - I love these type of characters, you can really experiment a great deal and end up getting away with a lot more - as the character.
MS: What occupations have you worked in other than acting? Which is your favourite and why?
SJJ: In between movie jobs - I run an international security company, specialising in Diplomatic and Executive protection. We have the same training as the U.S. Secret Service and protect high profile people from assassination and kidnapping in High Risk Environments throughout the globe. I love this work because it comes natural to me - In reality, I have been protecting good people from bad for most of my life - either in the movies and/or in real life.
Thanks
Sam J. Jones.
