| About Stuart Blair & The Sci Fi Reporter |
 |
- About Stuart Blair -
Since 2004, Stuart Blair has been actively
rejuvenating the Sci Fi Event calendar in Adelaide,
South Australia.
He took over as President of the UFP (special interest
Star Trek group) with a total of 25 loyal club
members, and within two years, had increased UFP
club membership to over 150 club members Australia-
wide with over 60 members attending monthly at the
club’s headquarters in Adelaide.
Stuart was instrumental in bringing, not one, but two,
Sci Fi conventions to Adelaide in 2005 with large
attendances at both shows. As organiser and MC of
Terra Nova events in 2005, Stuart received praise at
the highest level from the Premier of South Australia,
the Hon. Mike Rann MP, who officially opened the
convention, lending his support to events like
this.
Stuart curated the Star Trek Exhibition that was a
featured event of National Science Week at the
South Australian Museum, attracting over 26,000
people over nine days with activities as diverse as
lessons in conversational Klingon, a sci fi film festival
and “costumed” guided tours of the two-floor
exhibition.
After two highly successful years as President of the
UFP, Stuart has recently launched his latest
endeavour, the Shuttle Mawson, an online sci fi fan
club, as part of the Starfleet (official Star Trek fan
association) organisation.
